Mission:
To create inclusive spaces where members of the Two-Spirit LGBTQIA+ community come together to feel welcome and safe, which provides access to dynamic services for all aspects of health and well-being.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Queer Intersections (QX) is to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and the broader community, where they can access services, support, and resources that positively promote their overall well-being. QX provides regular programming that addresses issues such as discrimination, isolation, and mental health that result in social inclusion and promote equity for 2SLGBTQIA+ persons in the community. QX regularly offers opportunities for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals to engage in community-building activities and skills development that promote empowerment and self-advocacy, including but not limited to fostering artistic exploration and promotion. We strive to educate the community on 2SLGBTQIA+ topics while maintaining a positive relationship with the community. Our programming and events are curated for individuals across the lifespan, from youth to seniors in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, while including the general public to create a lasting and sustainable connection. These initiatives contribute to developing a strong, supportive, and capable 2SLGBTQIA+ community that can advocate for its rights and needs within the broader society.

Transparency
QX's is here for the community. We know if resources of any kind are allocated to us, it is important to show that we are using these funds wisely and in the best interest of the community. Here is a high level overview of where our donations and grants are currently used.
Operational Costs
For sustainability of occupying our community space, we need to raise a minimum of $30,000 a year. This maintains:
-
Rent
-
Internet
-
Website
-
Security system
-
Administration related supplies/fees
-
Fund for covering VSCs as needed
Programming Costs
From the giving and passionate spirit of our community, a majority of our programming is currently facilitated by our board members and/or volunteers. These funds are primarily used for programming supplies. We strive to make any programming low to no lost for our community. Our goal is to have enough funding to be able to pay ongoing facilitators for programming through honorariums.
Examples of our programming are:
-
Peer Support Group (18+)
-
Rainbow Family Kids
Event Costs
We will use events as fundraisers and opportunities for no/PWYC cost community gatherings. Both require up front costs in order to be successful.
Examples of these events are:
-
Renting table space at festivals
-
QX's annual BBQ
-
CommuniTEA (event coming soon)
IMPORTANT: The QX Board of Directors does not financially benefit from these funds in any way. The operational board is 100% volunteer run.
